Owner Dana TePoel has been in the Westminster, CO, area, taking care of people's repairs, maintenance, and even emissions tests (diesel emissions only) for years. Luckily, he has moved to a much nicer and much better-equiped facility!

I've been to Dana's shop myself, and over the course of three days, talked to customers, interviewed the staff, and observed every aspect of the shop. I am here to tell you, this is the place in the north end of the Denver Metro Area to send your family if they need a repair! His managers and technicians are amazing when it comes to service, knowledge and honesty!

I know I usually don't make a lot of noise about other shops . . . but the Monday Morning Mechanic would send his own MOTHER to Lake Arbor Automotive & Truck!

Choosing a repair shop?

If you don't live near any of these shops, chances are you're still near a quality, trustworthy repair shop.

The most important thing to remember when choosing a great repair shop, is that you should feel comfortable and confident when you make your decision about what repairs and maintenance to have performed.

Keep in mind that a great shop will gladly answer any questions or concerns that you have, and will take the time to explain what any service does, what it means to you in the long run, and how much money you'll save by performing it. If you don't feel confident, bring your car somewhere else!

When you're on the lookout for a new repair shop, here are some credentials to look when looking for a new shop:

ASE Certified Technicians
An ASE Certified technician has been tested and certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (and re-tested, every 5 years). A shop that employs ASE Certified techs is committed to providing you with the highest quality repairs.
AAA Approved Auto Repair
AAA Approved shops must meet AAA's standards for cleanliness, proper tools, adequate technical training, and appropriate technician certifications. In addition, AAA approved shops must have at least a 90% favorable rating by customers in a AAA-conducted survey.
BBB Member
Being a BBB Member Repair Shop is important because it shows that a shop is willing to listen to and address customer concerns. If a shop is a BBB Member, their reliability report is always available from BBB's website, so that you can see their history of complaints and how they were addressed.
NAPA AutoCare Center
A shop with this certification meets NAPA's standards for "community reputation, integrity, qualifications, and expertise." This certifications also means that the shop offers the NAPA AutoCare Peace of Mind Warranty, which covers qualifying repairs for 12 months/12,000 miles.
